Lazy weekend
After picking up Virantha at BWI we stopped at Fell’s point were we had breakfast at Jimmy’s Restaurant. I had a BLT on wheat and Virantha had the pancake’s special: 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and bacon. Of course we shared. The food was excellent. We then hoped to buy some fish at the market, but the ice was still empty. That evening we did grocery shopping for the week. For dinner we had a rotisserie chicken with steamed vegetables. It was good, I had not had a rotisserie chicken since living in Ithaca.
Sunday we had breakfast at home and decided to finish our grocery shopping: we finally collected all the ingredients for dinner and hopefully for the rest of the week. We also stopped at Chesapeake Wine Company, were we got 3 bottles: Terra Alta Ludovicus Spain (great flavor and great price). Cabernet Sauvignon La Forge Estate France 2006, and La Sauvageonne Les Ruffes France 2006. We have cooked two main courses Lamb Ragu and Stuffed Poblano Peppers. Virantha has started the first step for purple sticky rice, the wine for the weekend was Casa Lapostolle, Cabernet Sauvignon Chile, 2004: aged in french oak barrels, aromas of red currant, strawberry, and blackberry. A supple and round wine.
